Lake Skadar Adventure Tours is owned by Undiscovered Montenegro and operated by brother and sister team Vuk and Bojana Sekulić.

“We are originally from the north of Montenegro, but have lived and worked in Podgorica, Montenegro’s capital, for most of our adult lives. Back in 2012, we were approached by the founders of Undiscovered Montenegro, Ben and Emma Heywood. They asked us if we wanted to help them set up a quality day tours operation to compliment their successful activity holiday business, both showing off the amazing natural beauty of this special National Park. We said “Yes!”, and in the years since these day tours have become ever more popular!”

All your guides speak excellent English and are fully qualified in their respective fields. All tour equipment is carefully vetted and we have full liability insurance.

Vuk

Vuk is a man of many talents – radio show host, voice-over artist and committed eco-phile, he is one of the very few locally qualified kayak guides in Montenegro. Whether you’re looking to kayak, hike or mountain bike, he’s your man! Vuk speaks excellent English and of course Serbian/Montenegrin.

Bojana

Bojana wrote the book on sustainable tourism in Montenegro! Whilst working for the CSTI (Centre for Sustainable Tourism) and various NGOs she helped to define Montenegro’s reputation for organic gastronomy as well as having a hand in creating most of Lake Skadar National Park’s hiking trails. She speaks Serbian/Montenegrin and English.

Undiscovered Montenegro

HOT OFF THE PRESS, Europe's nature watchdog, the Bern Convention, meeting today in Strasbourg, has just opened a file to stop the construction of the tourist developments 'Porto Skadar Lake' and neighbouring 'White Village' at Lake Skadar National Park. Their experts are working with Montenegro's Government to ensure this environmentally-precious area of the lake receives top level protection, i.e. no building! We want to thank all our friends & followers who have supported the #SaveSkadarLake campaign and signed the petition. You helped get this issue to the table that matters!

Live from 39th meeting of the Bern Convention in Strasbourg where the file against construction of Porto Skadar Lake and White Village was OPEN. This is putting additional pressure on Montenegrin government to suspend building permits and protects the national park Skadar Lake.
We were supported by Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria
France, Germany and Hungary. Only Bulgaria was against.

Undiscovered Montenegro

This has to be one of the best undiscovered views in Montenegro! We used a recent sunny day to explore a hidden trail at our favourite National Park, lined with mossy rocks and ripe wild pomegranates. Returning home via the popular horseshoe bend lookout, we were reminded again what an astounding place we've chosen to live and base our travel business!

Europe, the most developed continent, still has amazing wildlife as shown in the latest episode of David Attenborough's 'Seven Worlds, One Planet'. But some species will only survive with dedicated efforts like the Lake Skadar Pelican Conservation Project. Artificial breeding rafts have helped more than double the population of rare Dalmatian Pelican found here (a record-breaking 73 juveniles were born last year!) - but the rafts need maintenance to stay up to the job. On Saturday, we headed out with Andrej Vizi, the pelicans' lead researcher, to measure up for a DIY project to make a brand new raft more accessible for baby birds. Now comes the boring bit - lots of woodwork & varnishing - and with a pressing deadline. Nesting begins in just a few weeks!

Andrej is a specialist guide on our 7 day Montenegro Bird-watching holiday which directly supports pelican conservation at the lake! Find out more at undiscoveredmontenegro.com/search-form-1/birdwatching-holiday-montenegro/
