Lake Skadar Adventure Tours is owned by Undiscovered Montenegro and operated by brother and sister team Vuk and Bojana Sekulić.

“We are originally from the north of Montenegro, but have lived and worked in Podgorica, Montenegro’s capital, for most of our adult lives. Back in 2012, we were approached by the founders of Undiscovered Montenegro, Ben and Emma Heywood. They asked us if we wanted to help them set up a quality day tours operation to compliment their successful activity holiday business, both showing off the amazing natural beauty of this special National Park. We said “Yes!”, and in the years since these day tours have become ever more popular!”

All your guides speak excellent English and are fully qualified in their respective fields. All tour equipment is carefully vetted and we have full liability insurance.

Vuk

Vuk is a man of many talents – radio show host, voice-over artist and committed eco-phile, he is one of the very few locally qualified kayak guides in Montenegro. Whether you’re looking to kayak, hike or mountain bike, he’s your man! Vuk speaks excellent English and of course Serbian/Montenegrin.

Bojana

Bojana wrote the book on sustainable tourism in Montenegro! Whilst working for the CSTI (Centre for Sustainable Tourism) and various NGOs she helped to define Montenegro’s reputation for organic gastronomy as well as having a hand in creating most of Lake Skadar National Park’s hiking trails. She speaks Serbian/Montenegrin and English.

Launching from the remotest shores of the lake, we paddled though 50 shades of forested green and by carpets of water lily until there they were, flapping their giant wings above us. We had an incredible visit to Lake Skadar's remote colony of Dalmatian Pelican by kayak with our lake guests on Wednesday - a top wildlife experience for the Balkans and one which shows tourism and nature can support each other (we donate a proportion of our profits to pelican conservation at the lake each year)! Little known fact: Montenegro is one of Europe's bird hotspots! We have 65% of Europe's bird species right here in this tiny, beautiful country - that's 348 registered species in a landmass just a little bigger than Yorkshire. No surprises that our recent bird-watching groups were delighted. Photos with thanks to guest Jan Willem Steffelaar and guides Andrej Vizi and Mihailo Jovicevic.

We always pick the best weather day to take our guests kayaking. Last Wednesday was a corker - perfect conditions for a trip to the remote island monasteries of Beška and Moračnik and a cheeky dip in the lake. Pics by Curiously Erin, who was along for the paddle. 😎 🛶 ... See MoreSee Less

Undiscovered Montenegro

All you need is a great guide - and this week our guests got two as our brother/sister mountaineers, Vuk and Bojana, took them to climb giant mount Rumija. The weather conditions were perfect for hiking (no rain for a start! 😉), while wild flowers and heady herbs were out in abundance. Photos by our lovely volunteers Erin and Ben. ... See MoreSee Less
